学生活动 & 组织


T在这里 are a multitude of activities and events that 学生 at OUWB can take part in during their time in medical school. 学生 may participate in 学生组织, attend OUWB sponsored events, take part in community service or service learning opportunities and much more. 

To organize our activities, we have OUWB MedSync: an interactive online tool that fosters communication, cooperation and creativity between 学生, organizations and their members. Every OUWB student is a part of MedSync to foster connectivity to events and happenings at OUWB.

At OUWB, we have almost 50 学生组织 & Interest Groups in which you may get involved and pursue your passion. 这些学生, student-driven groups offer 学生 the opportunity to learn, 成长, 建立社区, and connect with one another around shared interests. 查看完整的列表 学生组织.

A student's medical career is ceremoniously marked by certain milestones, beginning with Orientation and culminating at the 毕业典礼 ceremony.  These events offer faculty, 学生, 工作人员, 家庭, and friends a time to join together in community and celebration.

迎新周

Every August, OUWB hosts 迎新周 to welcome a new class of medical 学生 to campus. During this first week of classes, 学生 also have the opportunity to engage in co-curricular events and activities that engage them with the larger OUWB community of 学生, 教职员工. The week culminates with the 白大褂仪式, w在这里 they receive their stethoscopes and white coats, and recite the Oath of Geneva to mark the formal start of their medical education.

白大褂仪式

OUWB medical 学生 participate in the traditional 白大褂仪式, during which they receive their first physician’s lab coat. This celebration marks the beginning of their medical education. 在仪式上, 学生 recite the Declaration of Geneva, which is the pledge that medical professionals take to signify their responsibility to the field of medicine. 比赛的一天 is a national event that occurs annually in March for graduating medical 学生 who find out w在这里 they will be fulfilling their residency requirements. In celebration of this milestone event of the medical journey, 学生, 他们的棱镜计划导师, and families are invited to a reception to share in the anticipation of discovering their residency match.

荣誉召开

The 荣誉召开 ceremony recognizes graduating OUWB medical 学生 with performance awards of excellence in academics, as well as awards for prestigious medical honor societies. 毕业典礼

毕业典礼 is the grand ceremony during which OUWB 学生 receive their M.D. degrees and are hooded by 他们的棱镜计划导师 (and in some cases, 家庭 members). The 2023届毕业生 commencement occurred on Friday, 5月12日, 2023 with an in-person ceremony inside of the O'rena on Oakland University's campus. 读文章 在这里.
